We've updated this article with the latest information. OSHA has just released a Monkey Pox fact sheet you may want to check out. See below for information on which EnvirOx products are effective against Monkey Pox.
Recently, you may have heard about isolated outbreaks of monkeypox. Such outbreaks are rare and, as you might expect, there are presently few, if any, disinfectants that have a kill claim for monkeypox. As such, the EPA has activated the emerging viral pathogen protocol that allows existing disinfectants that meet certain criteria to be used. They have also created a List Q to identify products that are expected to be effective against monkeypox similar to the List N created for SARS-Covid-2. Details can be found in the link below:
https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-registration/disinfectants-emerging-viral-pathogens-evps-list-q
To make things simple for our customers outlined below are our disinfectant products that are approved for List Q and the dilutions and contact times required to ensure effectiveness against monkeypox. Remember when searching List Q to use only the first two sets of numbers of the EPA Registration number e.g. 71847-6 to search 71847-6-69268.
The above products have demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to the monkeypox virus on hard non-porous surfaces.
Therefore these products can be used against monkeypox when used in accordance with the directions for use against the supporting virus on hard, non-porous surfaces.
